Error message
Restore QCN Fail Unable to load DLL 'QMSL_MSVC10R.dll'. The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
Cause
According to the reference, Windows lacks the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (x86) runtime components that QFIL/QPST software requires to read QMSL library files.
Ultimate solution: Install Visual C++ All-in-One
- Download the package. Search and download Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One from trusted technology sites, such as TechPowerUp or MajorGeeks.
- Extract files. Extract the downloaded ZIP file into a new folder.
- Run the installer. Search files
install_all.bat, right click, then select Run as administrator. - Wait for the process to complete. The Command Prompt window will install the Visual C++ version automatically. Wait until the window closes itself.
- Restart the computer. Restart so that Windows recognizes the newly installed DLL file.
Alternative solution if the error still appears
A. Copy the DLL to the QFIL folder
- Search files
QMSL_MSVC10R.dllon the computer or inside the QPST installation folder. - Copy (Copy) the file.
- Paste directly into the main folder where QFIL is run, usually in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Qualcomm\QPST\bin\
B. Update QPST to the latest version
Older versions of QPST may have compatibility issues with Windows 10/11. The reference suggests uninstalling the old QPST and installing a newer version, for example QPST version 2.7.460 or above.
Notes from references: If the DLL file is considered to be a fake threat during the flashing process, sources recommend temporarily disabling antivirus or Windows Defender. Make sure the file actually comes from a trusted source before running it.
